Preparations for protective work on the breeding ponds are moving full steam ahead. In recent days, the LIFE.VISTULA.PL project team met with contractors. The talks focused on the technical aspects of securing both the islands and dykes.
Meetings at the ponds were held February 10-14, 2020. Pond managers and ornithologists from the Upper Silesian Ornithological Circle, who have been conducting research and observations on the islands for 20 years, also took part in them.
The meeting participants agreed that each of the objects should be treated individually, due to their different state and character. Each of them is distinguished by a different state of damage to the dyke, shore erosion, a different geological background and wind conditions.
